Samuel Moore – Master of Flamenco Series 2

Following the recent success of Series 1, Samuel has begun his presentation of series 2 of Masters of Flamenco!

An absolute must for any guitarist or Flamenco enthusiast, these sessions give an insight into the masters in a way you didn’t realise you needed to know! Participants leave with the course materials in a bound book to take home, and all attendees gain knowledge presented in a clear and interesting way.

Workshop 1 21st Sep 2019:

The artistry of Melchor de Marchena in the context of the palos Soleá & Pentenera.

Workshop 2 24th Nov 2019:

The artistry of Mario Escudero in the context of Alegrías & his composition ‘Impetu’.

Workshop 3 11th Jan 2020:

The artistry of Esteban de Sanlúcar in the context of his composition ‘Panaderos Flamencos’.

Workshop 4 21st March 2020:

The artistry of Carmen Amaya and her accompanist Sabicas in the context of the palo Bulerías.

Workshop 5 9th May 2020:

The artistry of Camarón de la Isla and his accompanist Paco de Lusica in the context of the palos Verdiales & Fandango de Huelva.

Each workshop will be three hours in length and offers participants a unique opportunity to explore the evolution of flamenco musical language during the 20th century. Participants will leave each workshop with a complimentary booklet produced by Samuel containing the music covered in both tab and notation. Samuel has transcribed all this material directly from original recordings of the maestros and as most of this is not currently available on the commercial market, these five workshops are a unique learning opportunity for intermediate to advanced students.

Active Participant tickets are available for guitarists wishing to get directly involved and Observer spaces are also available for beginners and enthusiasts.

The workshops will run as a course and will be £250 per participant, or £150 for observer spaces. Payment can be made in instalments but must be fully paid a week before the first session commences.

Single sessions prices are:

Participant: £55.00

Observer: £35.00

These workshops will be held at:

THE YORKSHIRE COLLEGE OF MUSIC AND DRAMA, 1 ST MARK’S AVENUE, LEEDS, LS2 9BN
